What is MyIndex 1.0 for?

MyIndex 1.0 is based on the assumption that adherence to co-operative values and principles requires expertise in several specific domains of knowledge, such as personal development, teamwork, business strategy, world economics. Co-operatives from the very beginning, and by definition, are value-based businesses. As only persons have the possibility to choose values, adherence to co-operative values and principles relies on individual choices. Unfortunately, the choices nowadays are much more difficult than they used to be in the 19th century when the present form of co-operative movement was being shaped. Our contemporary world is much more complex than it used to be. The global loss in the complexity can be seen, for instance, in the scale of unhealthy lifestyles people lead in almost all countries.

This new tool is aiming at diagnosing our competence in the domains and propose a programme for individual development that can be institutionally supported by the co-operative whose members want to come back to the roots of co-operativism.

MyIndex 1.0 - Diagnostic model

MyIndex 2.0 is rooted on the assumption that co-operatives are person and not capital based. If so, what the persons know, what attitude they have makes the essence of a co-operative. The tool is planned to concentrate on four domains of expertise. They are Macroeconomics, Business, Personal transcendence and Interpersonal skills. Then, it is also supposed to diagnose one's lifestyle (Agency scale) to  see to what extent the person can apply the expertise in everyday life. If coupled with CoopIndex 1.0, the two tools should give clear guidelines for training and organizational development.
